Hospitals and Medical Applications

Safety inside and out

Keeping patients, doctors, nurses, and hospital equipment is of upmost importance, so don’t take any chances! From a stray stone, to a severe weather event, to an ill intentioned assailant, window breakage can come from anywhere. Our impact resistant security window film prevents windows from fracturing on impact, bringing some well deserved peace of mind to employees and patients alike.  This will also aid in keeping the broken glass from flying around in that event, potentially injuring people in that vicinity.

Bright & Hopeful Spaces

Natural sunlight has so many positive benefits for all humans, but unfortunately, many hospitals are forced to close the blinds in patient rooms and lobbies to prevent overheating and glare. Our daylight redirecting film is the perfect solution to gloomy, shade-covered windows and unnecessary heat. We have films that allow the sun to shine through which naturally illuminates rooms with beautiful natural light without any of the unwanted side effects.

Patient Privacy

Protecting the privacy of individual patients is crucial in hospitals, as any doctor or nurse is well aware. From mother/baby units to emergency rooms and everything in between, creating a comfortable, personal environment for each patient is of the upmost importance. Frosted film is an inexpensive upgrade for dividers and hallway windows that will help patients get the privacy they need. Choose from our standard patterned or frosted films, or work with our window film experts to create a custom designed film that is unique to your hospital or brand. These custom films can be applied to windows and walls, which we highly recommend for children’s units for creating a fun and comfortable space for young patients.

Block Harmful UV Penetration

Medical professionals above all understand the dangers of UV radiation exposure. Protect your patients, staff, and equipment from harmful UVA rays.  Most all of our films will reject 99% of dangerous UV rays.

Ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation from the sun can harm the skin and lead to skin cancers, UVB is effectively blocked by glass. However, at least 50 percent of UVA rays can pass through windows. Window film is an increasingly effective solution, offering substantial indoor protection by blocking up to 99.9 percent of UVA radiation. Although they are less intense than UVB, UVA rays are 30 to 50 times more prevalent and are present with relatively equal intensity during all daylight hours throughout the year. Window film can help prevent harmful UVA rays from damaging both your skin and your belongings.

The Skin Cancer Foundation has done extensive research on skin cancer and the benefits that window film can provide.  Feel free to browse these two articles written by them to give you a better understanding of the window film benefits and the dangers of the sun when left unprotected.
